I'm so on the fence about these and I have 3 pair so I should really make up my mind. First off they look great if the style is something you're OK with they are well done, clean, the leather is nice. There are two insoles, there's the standard and then there's a removable insole like what you'd put in an athletic shoe.When I first put these on it felt like heaven. I can even wear them without a sock liner because that removable insole keeps my feet dry.But that faded quickly because the insole made the shoes pretty narrow, and my feet are on the narrow side of medium. If you're an average to wide foot: avoid these like the plague.Here's where things go haywire for me. Without the removable insole the shoes are way too wide in the instep. Like a pea rattling around in a bucket. With the removable insole the shoes are the tiniest bit too narrow in the instep. There's no goldilocks.So what happens is I wear these with the removable insole installed for a few hours and it's ok to walk but if I have to stand my neuroma starts acting up, at which point it's too late to remove that insole. If I don't use the insole the shoes slip off my feet when I'm walking so I can't really wear them that way.Why I felt it necessary to buy 3 pairs? I have no idea. Try them on in the store first.Great fit comfortableI already own 2 pair of these shoes, the only shoes with soft, supple leather that do not hurt the bone spur (hallux rigidus) which is causing a lot of pain on top of a bunion on one foot. I need to have surgery to correct it, but until I can do it, these shoes are the only shoes that don't hurt. I used to be a size 10 in younger days, but have been wearing the equivalent of an 11, so while it's a little long, it compensates in the width for my injury. Love the shoes.They fit snug, have excellent foot support, smooth upper leather, rubber soles.Are comfortable . Give a sophisticated look.This is a well made and high quality shoe. Overall this shoe fits as expected. Unfortunately I had to return the shoe because with my RA the toe box was a little too shallow for my one bad foot and I was afraid it would not stretch enough to not cause pain. It is a beautiful shoe and the Seller is great.I brought these in an 8.5 after reading all the reviews on mephisto products, however think I should have stayed with the standard size 8. The toe box isnt wide and there is a slight gape at the arch but I'm looking forward to wearing them and am sure in the hotter summer months these will be comfortable alternative to sneakers.I always wear a 7 in Mephisto, but tried on in store and needed 7 1/2 in this shoe. Very comfy and glad I went with a bit larger size.I have worn Mephistopheles shoes since 1983 and for my feet they remain better and finer than any other shoes I have tried!!! WORTH EVERY DOLLAR TOO!
